The following individuals have been instrumental in my work.

I cannot express enough gratitude to the following individuals for their continued support and encouragement:

Jeanne Graziolli, you pushed me out of the classroom kicking and screaming and I am eternally grateful for the experiences that I have had as a result of your belief in me.

Ann Broomes, my first Principal and Internship Mentor- you helped me understand what an Assistant Principalship looks like;

Dr. Tina Stancil, the administrator that has prepared me for my next steps in this profession-that of being a principal.  You spent so much time teaching me what is expected of a Principal.

I offer my sincere appreciation for the learning opportunities provided by Rogers Garden Elementary Administration and staff, Horizons Academy for Alternative Education Administration and Staff, as well as Oneco Elementary Administration  and Staff.  I am eternally grateful for my experience at KCC for the past 4 years through our accreditations, contract renewals, and a global pandemic There is no other group of individuals that I would have rather been wrapped up with during these periods of time, even without sleeping, eating, or the true ability to think some days. You have all become my anchors and you will always carry a piece of my heart.

My work and my passion could not have been accomplished without the support of every student that has crossed my path – thank you for allowing me time to understand, grow, and love.  You have each given me more than I could ever conceive of giving to you.  You have been so instrumental in each of the excerpts, blogs, and experiences contained herein.

Thank you to my professors that had such a pivotal impact on my life especially in the area of Social Justice.  You woke the sleeping giant. Dr. Leonard Burrello, Dr. Bill Black, Dr. Vonzell Agosto, Dr. Joyce Haiens, Dr. Zorka Karanxja.  Thank you to my GCP cohorts. You pushed me in uncomfortable ways.  You stretched me to explore and question my values and beliefs.  You empowered me.  Isn't that the goal of real education.  There are no words to express my gratitude.

Thanks to my children as well, Logan, Brandon, Carson, as well as my bonus children, Mariah, Jessica, Brittany, John and Scott. You have all spent countless hours listening to the rants and stories of the heart.  You have fended for yourselves and made dinners on my late nights and watched my head buried in a computer screen for the sake of other people's children

Ultimately, I thank God for allowing me the courage to take risks and to catch me when I fell and to provide countless opportunities to grow in this profession and in life. I am blessed beyond measure and am grateful for every opportunity presented, even the numerous obstacles that I didn't understand in the moment and even for the ones that I still struggle to understand.

We are not defined by our obstacles, but rather how we overcome our obstacles.

I love you all.  Thank you for your continued support in all things.
